Q&A: Lauren Lane Talks Life, Motherhood & The Power Of Being Kind

We had a secret conversation with wife, mom of two, creator, and Bachelor Nation alum—Lauren Lane! Ok, it wasn’t really a secret. But Lauren is one of those people who makes you feel like the only person in the room. She’s got this sunshiney aura about her that makes you want to do a cartwheel. We can’t explain it! She’s magic! What inspired you to do this collection with us?

I’ve always been inspired by fashion + beauty and have been passionate about spreading kindness and encouragement. I love this brand because it pairs those two things together in such a fun way. Any time I’ve organically shared my Little Words Project bracelets, people have identified so much with them and loved them so I knew it was a great fit for me and something that my audience would love too! 

How have Little Words Project bracelets impacted your life, personally?

It sounds cheesy but in such a fast-paced culture/life, I oftentimes need a physical reminder to be present, give myself grace, or just something to make me smile. I love that these bracelets can remind me what matters while also looking cute! 

What do the words ‘Give Grace’, ‘Happy’, and ‘Y’all’ mean to you?

The concept of ‘Giving Grace’ has taken on such a new meaning as a mom. I used to think of it in terms of extending grace to others, which is so important, but in this season this phrase has been such a helpful reminder for me to extend grace to myself. It’s so easy to feel like you could be doing more as a mom. It’s a job that never ends! Having this phrase on my wrist reminds me that my best is good enough.

“Happy” was one of the first words my son Dutton said and I’ll never forget that moment! I also just love the playful nature of the word ‘Happy’. There are so many things we cannot control in life. Choosing to be joyful and thankful is so powerful!

I live in the South, so, ‘Y’all’ is probably one of my most-used words. I love how lighthearted it is and it just felt right to include a little tribute to the south in my collection!

Why do you think simple acts of kindness are so powerful?

We live in such a culture of ‘do more’ and ‘be more’ and it can feel so hard to keep up. A lot of times I feel that it ends up being divisive. Giving grace and kindness to yourself and others is so important because we truly have no idea what other people are going through. As humans I believe that we were wired for connection and relationships. The more we can love and support one another, the better off we are as individuals, and the better it is for our kids, communities, country, and beyond. 

What advice would you give someone who wants to make a difference?

Sometimes making a difference can feel overwhelming or out of reach but I truly believe that it can be as simple as being kind. Asking someone how they’re doing, offering to help with something, giving a compliment, or having a good attitude about something hard. The small gestures of kindness go a long way and positivity really is contagious.
