Giveback- OMAZING

Letter Color: White

The “OMAZING” bracelet was created in honor of Lincoln Zimmerman and all omphalocele babies. Lincoln was born May 14, 2020. At 12 weeks gestation the doctors noticed something a little off about his sonogram. His parents, Dylan and Shelbi Zimmerman, were sent to a specialist and had a few other tests done to confirm what they were seeing. After more tests and monitoring, the doctors were able to confirm that Lincoln had a birth defect called omphalocele.

The medical definition of omphalocele is “The infant’s intestines, liver, or other organs stick outside of the belly through the belly button. The organs are covered in a thin, nearly transparent sac.” For the family, this was a huge shock as none of them had ever heard of this defect. Every 1 in 4,200 babies are born with this condition.

O Warrior is a new non-profit organization that focuses on helping families gain support and knowledge about omphaloceles. Parker and Lindsay Cluff, the founders of O Warrior, were drawn to start this after their son was born in 2021 with a large omphalocele. They saw the need of a non-profit to benefit the community so they gathered together other omphalocele families to form the organization, help spread awareness, and build support. “OMAZING” is a word that you hear often to describe these kids, as they truly are amazing and so strong to overcome this from birth.
