Article: National Infertility Awareness Week at LWP

National Infertility Awareness Week at LWP

Did you know that 1 in 8 couples experience infertility? Infertility affects so many individuals, yet it tends to be a private issue with little awareness or conversation. At Little Words Project, this cause is very close to our hearts. We’re excited to support National Infertility Awareness week again this year from April 23-29, 2023. To kick off the week, we are donating 25% of net proceeds from our website and retail stores on April 23rd to The Stork Foundation for Infertility. Our Founder and CEO, Adriana Carrig, personally experienced infertility and has shared her story within our community numerous times to show support for others struggling with infertility and to bring awareness to the cause. You can listen to Adriana, and our VP of Marketing, Lauren, talk about their experiences with infertility here. We are excited to speak to this important topic during this critical week, but also, honored to support and give back to organizations like The Stork Foundation for Infertility, all year long.  Through our Little Words Big Impact initiative (a year-round program supporting an incredible group of causes that gives back 25% of net proceeds to different non-profits), we are able to help support The Stork Foundation for Infertility every single day.

Our Little Words Big Impact bracelet, made in collaboration with The Stork Foundation, is an incredible reminder that no matter what your fertility journey looks like, this Little Words Project beaded bracelet can be your reminder to hold on to hope. The beautiful crystal, neutral pattern includes the beaded word “hope” and can be kept for yourself or passed on as a gift to someone going through infertility. 25% of the net proceeds from this bracelet will benefit The Stork Foundation to provide financial assistance for low-resource individuals needing infertility treatments. The Stork Foundation was created in 2020 with a mission to give hope and opportunity to those suffering from infertility and battling for their hope and desire for parenthood. Over time, this wonderful organization has awarded 18 grants and awarded $190,000 + in funds.  5 Stork babies have been born and 7 are due Spring/Summer 2023! We are so touched to be a part of this beautiful mission and to play a small role in bettering the lives of those going through infertility. Passing on the word “hope” to a hopeful parent is wonderful in general, but being able to give back to a cause that could directly help them is far more impactful and fulfilling.

This year, we are also excited to launch a new limited edition custom style that gives back to the Stork Foundation. We understand that every fertility journey and experience is unique. Now you can customize your own bracelet with the exact word you need to help keep you inspired on your personal journey. In line with all of our efforts this week, 25% of the net proceeds from this bracelet will benefit The Stork Foundation to provide financial assistance for low resource individuals needing infertility treatments.

At Little Words Project, kindness, community, friendship and giving back mean so much to us. We encourage you to embody these values through actions in your everyday life, and especially this National Infertility Awareness Week. Use this week as a reminder that you truly never know what someone is going through. Be kind, above all else. For those of you struggling with infertility, we see you, hear you, and support you this week and always. Join us in honoring this special cause and supporting The Stork Foundation for Infertility.
